Silly Meme and Superpower Fic

tv_universe. The challenges were to do a popular meme based on a TV character, and to write a short fic giving a TV character a superpower. I kind of combined mine.
Elixir
Fandom: Castle
Characters: Martha Rodgers, Alexis Castle
Words: 562
Notes: Martha suddenly acquires a superpower. This story is named after a character who has this particular power; check it out if you want. Oh, and this is a follow-up of sorts to a story I did for a body-switch prompt. :)
“Grams! I can’t believe you went back to that crazy psychic after what happened the last time!”
Alexis trailed Martha into the hallway as the older woman headed to her room, pulling off her wrap.
“Alexis, dear, do stop worrying. As I said at the time, if that little body swap adventure told us anything, it was that Madame Longine’s powers are absolutely for real. So why not go back? See what insights she can offer. It certainly makes more sense than throwing money away on a charlatan. And in any case,” she paused in the doorway to face the girl. “I didn’t do anything like repeat that silly—though you must admit effective—little ditty about seeing ourselves as others see us.” She struck a brief pose and turned into her room. “Who cares about that? Far more interesting to see ourselves the way we want to be seen.” Martha strolled into her bathroom, pulling off her earrings, and making a face at herself in the lighted mirror.
Alexis threw up her hands. “Okay, Grams. You want to take the risk, just don’t come complaining to me when you’ve got some new curse on you. I’m off to the library.”
“All right, darling, see you at dinner.” Martha gazed at her reflection, a bit critically, and patted her hair, sighing as she noted that she was steadily losing the lustrous locks she’d always been so proud of. “Ah, age,” she murmured to herself. Suddenly she felt a shiver run through her body, and her scalp began to tingle. What? She closed her eyes and grasped the edge of the sink until the feeling passed. Upon opening her eyes, she was shocked to see her hair had lengthened and thickened into deep, auburn waves. Eyes widening in realization, she gazed down at her hands and thought hard. Again the shiver, and the tingle, and her hands seemed instantly softer, smoother. A glare at her midsection resulted in her skirt loosening considerably. A gaze askance at her chin seemed to instantaneously firm and tighten.
Oh my. This was no curse, it was a blessing! A superpower, able to control her body’s look and…yes, there, her chronically sore shoulder, cured. So, her body’s look and feel. Her eyesight, indeed, everything looked sharper, brighter.
Martha — successfully — willed her heart to slow down. She stepped back from the mirror and looked at the overall with her newly-restored vision. Everything, smoother, tighter, firmer, YOUNGER. Her whole body now was tingling and her mind was racing over the possibilities, when she heard the door bang and Alexis call out, “Just me, Grams, I forgot my phone. See you later. Love you!”
Suddenly weak, Martha leaned forward against the sink and took a few deep breaths. No. This wasn’t right. No matter how long it lasted, how many changes she could make, this wouldn’t be HER. And if she knew anything, it was that she wanted to be herself. Wrinkles, fading hair, and all.
With a sigh, she shook herself all over like a dog, thought hard, and when she looked again, it was herself, gloriously aging and feisty, staring back at her. She winked at her reflection and, strolling out of the bathroom, reminded herself not to make any foolish body-type wishes in the next few days. Hopefully by then this mad superpower—a curse, indeed—would have evaporated and left her in peace.
