...for
tv_universe, the challenge was to take a song that sticks with you, and link it to a tv fandom. Whenever I hear Prince's Let's Go Crazy, I think about breaking into that intro ("Dearly beloved, we are gathered today to get through this thing called LIFE") the next time I'm at a podium. And who better to take advantage of that than Jake Peralta of Brooklyn 99?

Card Meanings: The Two
Aug. 1st, 2015 12:03 pmThe challenge at
gameofcards is to do art/writing on the theme of playing cards. Up next: The Two. Like the Tarot they are based on, "regular" playing cards have meanings given certain schools of thought. This time I used the cartomancy interpretations explained here.
So, first, a Tumblr graphic with the qualities, then a picspam of various related pairings--mostly friends-types, since I'm not a huge shipper, but there is one category....You tell me if (1) you can identify the individuals; and (2) whether they fit the description! Remember, even concepts that seem to us to be "negative" can have positive meanings...
As a backdrop, I used the analogous Tarot cards from the amazing deck, Tarot of the Wild Unknown.

Card Meanings: The Ace
Jul. 18th, 2015 09:23 amThe challenge at
gameofcards is to do art/writing on the theme of playing cards. Up first: The Ace. Like the Tarot they are based on, "regular" playing cards have meanings given certain schools of thought. I started with this one, Cards of Life, that associates each card with certain birthdates, and certain life qualities.
So, first, a Tumblr graphic with the qualities, then a picspam of various individuals born on the key dates. You tell me if (1) you can identify the individuals; and (2) whether they fit the qualities! [Scan around at the link for the names if you want; you can also look up your own birthdate there!]

Music Inspiration Challenge
Apr. 30th, 2015 11:42 pmAt
gameofcards, the challenge was to get inspired by one of several songs posted. I picked one of my favorite songs ever, "Us" by Regina Spektor. Maybe best known from the film 100 Days of Summer, but also gorgeous and haunting in its own right. I decided to make Tumblr graphics related to the themes in the song, when I realized I had no idea what the song was about. So...I checked out Song Meanings. Wow, what a lot of different interpretations! I decided to go with what these random people seemed to think the song is saying. See what you think.

Theme of Hot and Cold
Mar. 3rd, 2015 04:08 pmA version of something I wrote once for the Secret Santa Threesome Extravaganza, with a graphic that I've been wanting to add for ages....
Hot and Cold
Fandom: Firefly
Threesome: Kaylee Frye/Zoe Washburne/Malcolm Reynolds
Requested Element: engine trouble
Warning: Implied sexual activity
Note: Originally written for I Saw Three Ships Secret Santa 2009 for Glinda

( “Tianna, it’s hot in here.” Zoe pulled off her leather vest and yanked at the hem of her blouse... )
