Songs for Astrid and Walter of Fringe.

1 What's Your Name by Don and Juan
Hee hee. Because the running joke of Walter calling Astrid by all manner of different names was both funny and a bit maddening, even hurtful--which was Walter in a nutshell. But it was the perfect set up for the beauty of their final scene, wasn't it?
2 Mrs. Cow by The Children’s Kingdom
For Gene, of course, since she was such a part of their life in the lab. This is a children's song, so rather silly, but it does have the line, "Dear Mrs. Cow, you do know how to work." Which indeed Gene did, she was a valuable part of their scientific experimentation.
3 Yellow Submarine by The Beatles
I think of their lives, in the lab, in the Alt-Verses, and tunneling through the amber, like being in the Yellow Submarine. In it together, doing wacky things, having adventures, but with that slightly crazed and also slightly melancholy feeling that was ever-present in this little world.
4 I'll Stand By You by The Pretenders
I picture them literally standing side by side, at the lab bench, or ready to electrocute a corpse, or releasing pigeons. Or holding each other for comfort. It's one of my favorite relationships.
