Game of Thrones and the Chinese Horoscope

catkoThe challenge was to come up with a patronus for a favorite character. I used the Chinese Horoscope animals…and looked up the actors’ birth years to find the best matches of person and animal characteristics. So…
Arya Stark - OX
Ox people are loyal, reliable, thorough, strong, steady, and determined. This is a great fit for Arya, even though her current conditions are so chaotic and out of control, she is steadfast in her desire for survival and revenge. Ox people establish firm bonds with their family and home; this is Arya’s tragedy, but we hope she will be reunited with some of her family eventually.
Jaime Lannister - DOG
Dogs are loyal, sociable, courageous, diligent, steady, and smart. So is Jaime. Dogs have a propensity to hold and linger on with the grudges till those are appeased. We can certainly imagine Jaime does as well. When dogs have found their soul mates, they would be faithful for life. Certainly this may end up being Jaime’s downfall.
Tyrion Lannister - ROOSTER
The Rooster signifies personality traits such as pompousness, confidence, and motivation. Roosters are generally trustworthy and loyal. All of this fits Tyrion to a T. He has all the confidence of a wealthy privileged man, yet he manages to show a strong sense of ethics despite his scorn and sinning. But roosters can also aggravate with their honesty, and annoy with their continuous tendency to seek attention. As a youngest child, with a physical condition that sets him apart, Tyrion also shows a tendency to be insecure and needy.
Petyr Baelish - MONKEY
Monkeys are witty, intelligent, fast learners and crafty opportunists. Baelish, with all his scheming and superficial charm, is obviously intelligent, but his supreme characteristic is looking out for himself and his own advantage. Monkeys can arouse suspicion and put up barriers to trust due to their sly, restless and inquisitive nature. Baelish's character is definitely suspect, and suspected by many of those around him.
Brienne of Tarth - HORSE
Horses are characterized as adaptable, loyal, courageous, ambitious, intelligent, adventurous, and strong. Brienne shows all of these traits. She is hard working, independent, can devote herself completely to a task or challenge--just look at how she strove to serve Catelyn, to accompany Jaime, to rescue Sansa. It's also her good fortune to be aligned with the Horse spiritually, given how reliant they are on actual horses in this world.
