I guess you know you've gotten to a Certain Age when a lot of your LJ posts are about people who have passed on, but that's what it is. July 8 is the anniversary of my Mom's death, two years ago now. The other day Lori, Camille and I were doing our evening walk 'round the neighborhood (literally, the street we were on is a circle) and a neighbor we knew from decades ago--took tennis lessons in their backyard, they had a tennis court!--said hello, we stopped to chat, and she mentioned "our dear Aya--the sweetest woman, everybody loved her."
It's true, Mom was one of those people. This picture (thanks for finding it, Lori!) is from our days living in England. Mom was always waving us off and welcoming us home. She still does, actually. Miss you, Mom, and love you.
