Yet another thing I wanted to do on this trip was to have an open house to meet people. I miss throwing parties, which we used to do a lot in the Berkeley days. It was cool because it gave impetus to setting up the apt, too; if it had just been me (and Lori, and later I hope Nance) coming and going, I might not have bothered. Hey, it was a terrific success! I'm so thrilled the TWOP Buffy MM people came! It's such a gas to meet, in person, online friends, and the Buffy group is especially tight-knit. It's a fun mix of being surprised by what people are like in person, and knowing so much about them that it's like familiar friends. And...great to have Alyssa and Pran, and John, Kristin, and little fast-crawlin' Joe, and Jane B. drop by. In a "it's a small town" way, of course John and Pran know each other being docs at Columbia, and less surprisingly, Alyssa and Jane have connections via NYU. Really enjoyed it; might add more anecdotes later.
