Street food, sudden weather.

Sunday I decided to try for a street festival, since Saturday I'd seen a pashmina I liked while passing thru the Bleecker street one. On the train to AC, I tweeted a general request, and Laurel mentioned to google it, and sure enough. So back up to the theater district. The pashminas were 3 for $10! i swear, every weekend they get cheaper and cheaper. But they didn't have the color I wanted, so I got street fair food instead. The pancake thing is a mozzarepa, mozzarella inside cornbread and grilled. A little sweet, would be good for breakfast, and the funnel cake, which I thought I'd had before, was different than I expected. The corn was the best.
Spent the rest of the day lounging around and watching the AMAZING thunderstorm that blew in just as I was heading out to get some enchiladas. I've never seen it rain so hard, with the wind flinging the rain against the buildings! People in the front of the restaurant were scrambling to close the windows and move to other tables. WILD! Then, minutes later, the sun broke through and that was it.
Later that night (after the Reaper rewatch), the most amazing lightning storm, lighting up the sky all around. The windows were rattling with the thunder, and I tried to take pictures to catch the lightning, which was almost impossible to do with a phone camera. Someone else got these. And wow, someone got killed by the lightning.

Hmm, two more weeks, since I leave on Sunday, August 9. Not tired of it yet.
