He squints at the Rolex, shifts in his seat. Who knew being a lawyer was so much damn waiting. Doubt that decision’s getting handed down tonight.

His mind drifts and his body relaxes, then tightens. Yeah, that can never be just a pleasant memory. So, he does feel bad. He has real feelings for Dana; sure, she’s a handful, but she’s smart, streetable. He can picture them together for a long time. And maybe that’s why he did it—felt suffocated, restless, and grabbed for the forbidden fruit.

He flexes, shirt straining across his back, and gets to his feet. Might as well head over, watch Dana in action. Smiles at the thought, then tugs at his collar, suddenly tight.
