Not jealous, but they were nose to nose, and hers is damn pert, and, I admit, since the goldfish, I’ve been restless, weirdly—unable to concentrate on my work, which is what I’m HERE for, not childish improper dalliances with the Press Corps, and I don’t have TIME to be off my game, so after seeing Mallory get Sam … confused, I thought it might, well, put the ball in my court, and so typical, he wouldn’t let me FINISH my lead-in, which, admittedly, was going off the rails (and since when do I use these awful clichés), but he could’ve at least let me- let me-
