Danny helped Matt to his feet, and they lurched against each other.

Straightening, they looked around, saw the staring faces from the party and down the beach, and exchanged a rueful glance. Matt ran a hand through his hair, Danny brushed sand off his suit trousers, and they staggered, as nonchalantly as possible, back toward the lights.

Before they reached the crowd, Danny looked at Matt challengingly, leaned close, and whispered, “A little too homoerotic for your taste? That’s not what you said in the lodge at Park City.” Matt looked startled, then, suppressing a grin, muttered, “And I thought you said, ‘What happens at Sundance, stays at Sundance.’”

Danny clapped him on the back, casual-like, but with a lingering downward stroke. “Little tussle just brought back some pleasant memories, my friend.” Matt laughed, “Operative word: friend. Buy you a drink?” But as they walked through the crowd toward the bar, he had to shake his head to clear the feeling of Danny’s warmth on top of him, pressing him down.
