Sooooo, first show of the new season...
Sep. 17th, 2013 12:33 amSleepy Hollow! I wasn't going to watch this because I'm not a huge fan of horror, but a bunch of you persuaded me, so I gave it a try. Liked it, in that "oh this makes no sense but it does and it has cool music and the actors have good chemistry and it HAS JOHN CHO!" kind of way.
Great fun. I'm sticking with it to, if nothing else, find out the answer to this question posed at The AV Club:
"Is Sleepy Hollow the next Fringe or the next Cape?"
Watch along, and judge for yourself.

Tomorrow, Brooklyn Nine Nine. Because I have a weakness for Andre Braugher and loved Barney Miller, which it keeps being compared to.

I hate what happened with Cho's character, but I like the girl which I didn't expect to. I'm also surprised to find Orlando Jones acting again after all this time ("Come on, ice cream!"), am liking Katherine and their use of the covens, and the Biblical apocalyptic aspect is actually making sense so far. It's also not too gory for my tastes, which is rare with horror shows these days, and the scene at the end is still rather sticking with me. I guess, probably, because I've seen things in mirrors before myself, although not that, thank God!
We'll be trying Brooklyn Nine Nine tonight, too. The premise sounded promising, but I hope it's not as stupid as the commercials for it which I've seen make it look!

I rather like the women, too; the few cops shows I've watched in the past, like Walker Texas Ranger and some seasons of Nash Bridges, have always had strong women.
